How much does it cost to register my child? ▼
The 2010 registration fee is $85.00 per child for all Baseball Players (age 5-12) and ASA Softball Players regardless of age. (No discount for additional children) The 2010 registration fee for the 4-Year Old Instructional League is only $60.00. See Boundary Requirements for Little League applicants. ASA Softball and the 4-Year Old Instructional League are open registration and the Boundary Requirements DO NOT apply.
Where do I go to register my child? ▼
What all does the registration fee cover? ▼
The fee covers the player’s shirt, cap/visor, socks, individual and team pictures, insurance, and a free soft drink after each game.
Does my child have to be with me to register? ▼
Who must tryout? ▼
Baseball players league age 9-12 and Softball players age 9-12. All Little League players age 11-12 are required to participate in 50% of the scheduled tryout sessions.
*If the child is playing baseball/softball for a private or parochial school that is not affiliated with the Alabama High School Athletic Association, he/she may do so with the written permission of the coach. Alabama High School Athletic Association member participants are prohibited from tryouts!
Can anyone other than a parent register a child? ▼
No. Parent or legal guardian must sign the registration waiver form in the presence of a League Official.
Can my child be assigned to a specific team for the purpose of carpooling? ▼
No. Teams are formed by either a blind draw or draft process. NO EXCEPTIONS!
My child is an exceptional ball player; can he\she play in an advanced division? ▼
No. There are no exceptions under the Little League Baseball rules. However, in the ASA Softball Division, there are exceptions. Please see the Chairman of your league to discuss this issue.
My child has a basketball game on the day of tryouts. Is it mandatory they tryout? ▼
My child is four (4) years old. By what date does he\she have to be five (5) in order to play Tee-Ball? ▼
For Little League Baseball, your child would have to be five (5) by April 30th of this playing season. If he/she turns five (5) on or after May 1st, they would be considered a four (4) year old, and would be eligible for the 4-Year Old Instructional League. Note: ASA Softball league age is determined by their age as of January 1st. The minimum age for ASA Softball is six (6) years old and is limited to female participants.
